Alban Gautreau, 72, of Gautreau Village, died Saturday (29 septembre) at the Dr. Georges Dumont Hospital, Moncton, after a lengthy illness.

Alban  GautreauBorn in Gantreau Village, he was a son of the late Anasthase and Albina (Gautreau) Gautreau. He was a retired roofer and attended Notre-Dame-de-l'Annonciation Church, Pré-d'en-Haut.

He is survived by his wife, Irène Fougère; five daughters, Mrs. Yvon Poirier (Claudette) of Ste. Anne, Mrs. Randall Davis (Francine) and Mrs. Danny Bourgeois (Diane), both of Belliveau Village, Mrs. Normand Gautreau (Linda) of La Montagne, and Jeannette at home; one son, Maurice of Gautreau Village; three sisters, Mrs. Zoël LeBlanc (Elmire) and Mrs. George Auffrey (Anita), both of Gautreau Village, and Mrs. Roméo Léger (Evéline) of Memramcook West; three brothers, Uldege of Moncton, Normand of Dieppe, and Denis of Gautreau Village; seven grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Anna, and two brothers, Laurie and Alcide.

The body is at the Dupuis Funeral Home, Memramcook. Funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Notre-Dame-de-l'Annonciation Roman Catholic Church, Pré-d'en-Haut. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
